  1. Hungarian Papermags

  4.   At this point of time, four mags are
  5. dealing  with the wonder machine.  The
  6. oldest  one  is CoV (Commodore Világ -
  7. Commodore  World).   This  black&white
  8. mag  is  only  about  games and rarely
  9. utilities.    Its   power  is  in  its
  10. humour.    CoVBoy's   (   one  of  the
  11. editors)  ironic  and  funny  style is
  12. simply unbeatable, the mag's climax is
  13. in CoVBoy's letters section.  They are
  14. mostly    publishing   big   RPG   and
  15. adventure  go-through  articles.  They
  16. (the     staff:      CoVBoy,     Getto
  17. (graphician),  1.75  (one  guy is just
  18. 0.75 after some cold beers...) and the
  19. remarkable  beercan-opener.  It really
  20. was in the imprint -ed.)) also release
  21. the  ca.   yearly  CoV Yearbook.  They
  22. are  always  in  war  with  time, just
  23. can't   release   an   issue  in  time
  24. (reminds of some diskmags?  -ed.).

  26.   The 2nd one is 6 Kbyte.  In a time
  27. there  was  a kind of war between them
  28. (in  fact  there  was no war, just the
  29. readers made up the case -ed.).  It is
  30. a  game  mag ,too, but the half of the
  31. 32  pages  is  in  colours.  576 Kbyte
  32. deals  with  every  type of games, but
  33. red  hot preferred.  It's not as funny
  34. as   CoV,  but  looks  nicer.   In  my
  35. opinion  CoV  is  better,  but lots of
  36. readers   love   576   Kbyte  for  its
  37. professional     outlook    and    the
  38. articlewriters  are great gameplayers.
  39. The  chiefeditor  is  Balogh  Zsolt, a
  40. tough  businessman,  the  rest are ex-
  41. scene members (does REDS mean anything
  42. to anybody?).

  44.   The  newest  star is GURU, the paper
  45. version  of  the loved diskmag.  In my
  46. opinion  it's  beyond doubts that it's
  47. the  new  leader in the hood.  64 full
  48. coloured  pages,  32 for games, 32 for
  49. hardwares,  demos,  misc.  stuff.  Its
  50. outlook  is  great, but they have some
  51. problems  with  page-setting.  They do
  52. the  whole  mag  on  an  A3000  with a
  53. PageStream.   Nothing to say about the
  54. game  section,  but  its hardware news
  55. and  tests  are phenomenal.  The staff
  56. travels  all  around  the  globe  from
  57. exhibition  to  exhibition,  and  they
  58. always  have  interesting  interviews,
  59. hardware tests (Gáborca is a master of
  60. hardwares  and ray-tracing -ed.).  The
  61. demo   section  is  made  by  Jean  of
  62. S!P/Scoopex,  I think most of you know
  63. him.   Just  a  little quote from him:
  64. "There  were  some  rumours in the air
  65. about  a  new  european  level  group,
  66. lately.   And now it's here.  With ex-
  67. Soc.Brigade,   Red   Rats,  Live  Act,
  68. Graffity and 23C members Absolute!  is
  69. born".   No  comments.   Lots  of fine
  70. pictures  are  put on every page.  The
  71. staff is:  Bear, Shy, Masell, Gáborca.
  72. Guru is fine example of what the young
  73. generation  can do if they really want
  74. to.

  89. the   4th   mag.   It's  called  Amiga
  90. Magazin.   I  heard  it's  cool, but I
  91. have never read one.  It's dead now...
